A pleasant read about Banff and running a small B & B.....

I didn't expect to find this book that interesting but was pleasantly surprised to discover it was not only very readable but actually, for the most part, very entertaining. As an armchair traveler I have read a lot of books of this ilk and this one does stand up to competition with the big name writers who make the top ten lists. If you enjoy travel books, books about the Canadian Rockies and nature material I think you'll find this a pleasing read.

A GREAT book that will make you feel as though you are sitting in the quaint little B&B yourself, listening to Jamie tell his stories. His vivid descriptions of Banff coupled with the interesting history of the town and B&B will surely captivate you ... I finished it in two days because I simply couldn't put it down. For younger audiences in particular, McVicar will inspire your adventurous side, lending fantastic advice to "take the money you are about to spend on a Masters or Doctorate degree and travel. Shrink your world. It just might widen your sense of home."

A delightfully entertaining and informative story about a Canadian woman and an American man set in the resort town of Banff.

This is a beautifully written love story about the trials and tribulations of running a B and B in the small mountain town of Banff located in the Canadian Rockies. Jamie's talent lies in his ability to tell a story with humour, insight and passion. The story is interspersed with fascinating,factual information about the geological and natural history of Banff and area. This story is captivating from beginning to end and is guaranteed to draw you to visit Banff if you haven't already done so (and perhaps check into a B and B). I highly recommend this sweet read.
