There are so many books that tell you how to get closer to God. This book is not one of them.

There are so many books that tell you how to get closer to God.
This book is not one of them. This book explains how close God is to each of US, and how little our actions have anything to do with that reality.
There are academic sections in some chapters for those who enjoy the intellectual engagement of theological discourse, and the arguments are presented deftly and with good humor. But the great beauty of this book is the simple, profound result of that theology: if you have trusted in Christ's work on the cross to bring you into a right relationship with God, then you can rest in the fact that God loves you as He loves His own Son. No amount of good (or bad) behavior can change that truth.

This book has turned grace into so much more than a word. As a christian, I had always heard grace preached, but never truly FELT and understood its true meaning until Pastor Bill started teaching it, both in his word and in this book. He uses humor, wisdom and intelligence to present grace in an "in-your-face, unconditional, no strings attached, gift-of-all-gifts" way that leaves you filled with hope.
