A useful travel guide

This is a good guidebook in that it has what you would expect to find in a guidebook -- suggestions of where to go and what to see, and descriptions of sights, hotels, and restaurants. Hours, pricing, website addresses, etc. One thing that was missing from this guide was any mention of where to park when going to the sights or restaurants. Also, we found that the map that comes with the guide is not very useful. You are better off getting a map from the Tourist Office once you arrive in Montreal or Quebec City, or purchase one at a gas station.

Must have for the maps and most of the guides for Montreal

The best maps in the city of Montreal. In the hotel/restaurant reviews they missed quite a few good restaurants. I felt that they should have added more. They obviously did not like the Latin
This had the best maps in the city of Montreal - we were not in Quebec city. I felt they missed many good restaurants and glorified a hotel or two. They mentioned one that had a fabulous lobby of art work. We stopped in and there was one free standing piece..that is all! They obviously did not like the Latin Quarter, which has the students, and is "artsy". We loved it! Great food, interesting people. Very good book over all.

Excellent and Up-to-Date

Just returned from Quebec and found this guide useful and up-to-date. I did cut out all the Montreal pages to make it about 1/3 the weight and size it was when new. I know...that seems dumb but I wanted to keep the weight down and have something easy to access for walking around. Anyway, if I go to Montreal I'll just stuff the additional pages in my bag.
Anyway, this guide provided plenty of information for our 4 day visit without overwhelming with useless information. BTW, if you haven't been to Quebec, it is a most beautiful and unique place...really like being in a small city in France where everyone is friendly and speaks both French and English. It's very accessible from the USA but be prepared to walk up and down streets with hills. Don't forget to take this guidebook with you.
